Rendang is a special kind of nyonya curry, where the sauce is thicker with less coconut milk used and with fried coconut flakes/shreds added. Hence it is also called “Dry curry”. Unlike meat curry, rendang is cooked without potatoes or other ingredients. Traditionally, rendang is best cooked with beef (brisket or tendon preferred), where longer cooking time is desired have the beef tender and flavourful. However with these instant rendang paste, you can now enjoy a chicken rendang dish with minimal cooking time.
